Candy has been with DeSoto Animal Clinic for over 25 years. During her time here she has filled many roles, including working as an assistant and in reception. Candy currently manages our annex where we sell pet foods and some pet supplies. Candy and her husband Joe share their home with a cat named Napoleon. Candy and Joe have two adult sons, and when she’s not working Candy loves to spend time with her grandkids.


Vicki has been with us over 20 years. She has a background in accounting and an Associate Degree in Business. Vicki won Best of Breed Westminster (Breeder/Owner/Handler) in 2009 and had the #1 Owner-Handled Mastiff, 2014.

Chelsea, CVT

Chelsea is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1996 and came to work with us in 1997. She’s originally from Massachusetts and is a huge Red Sox fan! She has several cats, including Grace, Mazie, Sooner, Jack, and Junior!


Ashley has been with our office since 2000. Ashley and her fiance, Wes, share their home with a cat, Baby; a German Shepherd, Rambo; two Dachshunds, Jackson and Stella; two tortoises, Hank and Bruno; and three chickens, Henrietta, Mrs. Cluckington, and Chicaletta. Ashley completed the EMT program and is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. She and Wes welcomed their first child in 2014, Connor.

Michaela, CVT

Michaela joined our staff after moving to Florida from New York in 2005. She attended Adirondack Community College and SUNY-Canton where she received her certification as a Veterinary Technician. Michaela shares her home with a wacky, but sweet, Catahoula mix, Tessie.

rachel1Rachel, CVT

Rachel has been a member of our staff since 2006. She became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College. She and her husband share their home with a sweet Carolina Dog, Roo and a rescued mutt, Harvey.


Kristy has been a part of our reception staff for 10 years. She and her husband share their home with two dogs, Archer and Casanova.

jillJill, CVT

Jill has been working in the veterinary field since 1998. She received her degree from St. Petersburg College in 2004 and joined DeSoto Animal Clinic in 2012. She and her husband have 3 children and 3 cats, Sandwich, Hoagie, and Slider. When not at work, Jill enjoys hiking and road trips.


Betty is originally from Germany and relocated to Florida in 2012, joining our staff in 2013. She and her husband Tom share their home with three ferrets named Lenny, Linus, and Alfred; and two cats, Emmy and Gertie. Betty is a Certified Commercial Correspondent and is passionate about ferrets, food, and fitness. She enjoys veterinary nursing and learning new skills. Betty is currently in the Navy and we anxiously await her return to DeSoto Animal Clinic!


Lisbeth has been a member of our veterinary assistant staff since March of 2014. She is from Lima, Peru and moved to Florida in 2006. Lisbeth and her son, Nathan, have two dogs, a German Shepherd Dog, Bonita and a Siberian Husky, Marshall.

stacyStacy, CVT

Stacy began working at DeSoto Animal Clinic when she was in high school. She continued with us during college and worked as an assistant after graduating from Mars Hill University with a BS in Zoology. She decided to further pursue veterinary medicine and moved to Denver, Colorado to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Upon graduating she took a position at an animal hospital there and worked for 7 years before returning to the Bradenton area to be closer to her family.  In her free time, Stacy enjoys kickboxing and spending time with friends and family.


Sarah joined our clinic in 2015 as a receptionist and is now an assistant as well. She enjoys interacting with people and animals and is working toward becoming a credentialed veterinary technician. Sarah likes going to the beach and practicing yoga in her free time.


Laracea joined our reception team in March of 2016. She previously worked in retail while she volunteered with us. She likes spending her time off at the beach and hanging out with her handsome dog, Ranger. She graduated from EMT school and is currently attending nursing school!


Lauren joined our team in January 2017. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2006 and is currently finishing her degree in veterinary technology. Lauren and her husband share their home with two Boston Terriers, Rebel and Bocephus, and a Boxer named Layla.

Holly, CVT

Holly has worked in the veterinary field since 2006, starting out as an assistant here at DeSoto Animal Clinic. She earned her degree in Veterinary Technology at St. Petersburg College, and has since worked in both general and specialty practices in California and Maryland. She has a special interest in wildlife conservation and has experience with wildlife, including sea otters and birds of prey. Holly loves all creatures but she is especially fond of her tortoise-shell cat, Penny. She also enjoys outdoor recreation, being around water, and spending time with family and friends.


Healey joined our team in July 2017 after volunteering for several months. While she enjoys working in the small animal practice, she has a strong love for livestock and all other farm animals. She plans to become an equine veterinarian in the future. When she isn’t at school or work, she can usually be found at her barn with her horse, Browning.


Chloe joined our reception staff in October 2017. She is currently attending school at Liberty University, online. Her ultimate career goal is to become a doctor and work with Doctors without Borders. Chloe enjoys spending time at the beach. She has two Chihuahuas, Bobo and Daisy.


Crystal joined our practice in 2017 and is currently training as an assistant and receptionist. Crystal was born and raised in Bradenton, and both of her parents are from Mexico. She shares her home with her boyfriend; 5 kids; 3 dogs, Miley, Nelson, and Wrigley; 2 birds, Peri and Keeton; and a guinea pig, Peaches. Crystal hopes to attend school and become a Certified Veterinary Technician!


Jessica is a Florida native and currently lives in the Palmetto area. She enjoys working with animals and has a Jack Russell named Libby. In her spare time, she enjoys photography. She aspires to work in the photography/videography field and work with animals.


Chelsea joined the reception staff in December 2017. She is new to the veterinary world after spending a decade in the marketing department for a local retailer. She doesn’t have any pets at this time, but hopes to rescue a dog or cat in the near future. Chelsea answers the phone as Lynne, to avoid any confusion with our other Chelsea!

Colleen, CVT

Colleen joined our staff as a Certified Veterinary Technician in January 2018. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2013. She shares her home with a Cairn Terrier, Scout, and a Dachshund mix, Pico.
